I spent the first part of my adult life travelling the world, the middle years studying and now have settled down to write.
From the first part I have endless photographs and memories, from the second I have a BSc Hons and a MA. Now in this part everything comes together.
Over the years my interests have expanded, as has my book and music collection.
A short list would include reading (almost anything) science, opera, folk, gardening, philosophy, crazy patchwork, freeform crochet, ethics, social history, cooking (and eating of course) anthropology and of course climate change and sustainability.
My parents gave me, apart from a love of reading and music, an interest and curiosity about everything which in itself gives a total inability to be bored and for this I am always grateful.
I like to laugh, to sit and chat to the cats and weave fantastical tales in my head.
Alberta was born in London just after the Second World War, so missing the bombs by a hairsbreadth. Growing up surrounded by books and tales of other worlds set of after she left college to fulfil her dreams of travelling the world. Well she never reached every country but in twenty years of wandering visited every continent.
In her 40s Alberta decided on a whim (what she refers to as a menopausal hiccup) to take herself off to University to take a science degree despite not having studied any science, except elementary Biology, at school. She gained a BSc Hons in Anthropology and Food Science and then went on to gain an MA in Women’s Studies before leaving her studies to become a family carer. It was during this period that Alberta decided to pursue another ambition from childhood, that of writing, enrolling in a local writing class.
Ellen’s Tale, Alberta’s first novel, was born from a homework exercise in short story writing! Her short story writing has improved since then. Ellen’s Tale began it weary way out to agencies but after a brush with cancer Alberta decided that life at this last end was too short for the usual wait for recognition and decided to self publish Ellen’s Tale, and the by now written sequel The Storyteller’s Tale. This was a learning mountain, from basic keyboard and software skills to final copy in her hand. However she enjoys researching and learning new skills and although the first to admit she has a lot still to learn up here in cyberspace she’s enjoying herself tremendously.
Alberta has now published three titles in the Sefuty Chronicle series
Ellen’s Tale, The Storyteller’s Tale and Jack’s Tale.
Also a collection of Short Stories
A Patchwork of Perspectives.
These can be found in print and e-book versions
She blogs on various subjects keeping four blogsites for the purpose.
